HighRoller Stanford Wong

Stanford Wong was born in 1943 as John Ferguson. He showed his talent for strategic thinking as a child when he out mastered his 6 year old friends in tic tac toe. He is said to never have lost one single tic tac toe game and his writings influences people to walk some of his victorious path.

Wong's world famous book Professional Blackjack was first printed in 1975 and is still in print and circulation. His blackjack career began in 1976 when he was teaching finance at San Francisco State while getting his own PhD in Finance from Stanford University in California. It was at the PhD program that a friend gave him the nickname Stanford Wong which has stayed with him ever since.

"Wong" has turned into a gambling phrase as "wonging" is the expression used for the technique in blackjack that Stanford Wong developed. This technique lets the player step into the game when the count is in his favor and step out again when it is not. Some casinos have made this impossible by not allowing any "Mid-Shoe Entry" that is letting a player start in the middle of a round.

After his first successful book Stanford Wong has published many more. Among his titles can be found Winning Without Counting and Sharp Sports Betting. He has also created a computer program called Blackjack Analyzer which was one of the first blackjack odds analyzing software to be produced. He publishes from his own publishing house named Pi Yee Press and he is a member of the Blackjack Hall of Fame.

Stanford Wong is a somewhat public figure as he has appeared many times on TV both as a tournament contestant and as an advisor. He has worked as a consultant for such famous gamblers as Don Schlesinger and Ian Andersen. This is also how he is best known today, as an expert.

He is no longer active as a gambler professionally and he explains it himself by stating that blackjack must be played with a hunger to score success. As he is already a master of the game and he doesn't seem to be in dire straits when in comes to finance chances are that we will continue to see him as an advisor and expert. People looking for some of his secret can read up on his books or visit one of his gambling websites where a newsletter is available on regular basis.
